Earlier this year the redevelopment of Athlone town centre was completed. As with two other very successful Public Realm schemes which Omos were involved with, this scheme was designed by Nicholas de Jong Associates and constructed by John Cradock Ltd.  The project involved the Public Realm redevelopment/remodelling of Church Street in the town centre from Custume Place to Dublin Gate Street and includes the adjoining Streets/Areas, Northgate Street, Bridge Street, Griffith Street, The Bawn and Civic Offices.

A large element of this project involved bespoke concrete seating. In cooperation with our Portuguese partner AMOP, Omos developed Nicholas do Jong’s designs and produced made to measure units to a high quality finish thanks to the advanced mould making and casting facilities in Águeda, Portugal.

The scheme also features a number of familiar Omos products including s16.2 litter bins, s26 bollards, s71 cycle stands and s39 tree planters.
