Athlone Church Street
Earlier this year the redevelopment of Athlone town centre was completed. As with two other very successful Public Realm schemes which Omos were involved with, this scheme was designed by Nicholas de Jong Associates and constructed by John Cradock Ltd.
Christ Church Cathedral
Work recently completed within the grounds of Dublin’s Christchurch Cathedral demonstrates Bernard Seymore Landscape Architecture’s ability to respect the heritage of a landmark historical site while creating a functional and inviting contemporary space.
Queens Walk
Almost a year on from shipping the first trailer load of s21 planters to Queens Walk, Reading, and having patiently waited for the planting to blossom, we recently paid a visit to gather images of the impressive result borne of Barton Willmore's vision.
Omos are proud to have been involved in such a scheme where the extensive and imaginative use of our modular planter clearly demonstrates the versatility of the product.
Merrion Square
Merrion Square was originally a private square for the sole use of local residents. It was purchased by the Catholic church in 1930 with the intention of building a cathedral on the site. This never materialised and Dublin Corporation took over ownership of the park in 1974.
DCC are undertaking a broad scale renovation of Merrion Square Park. These works are being guided by the Conservation & Management Plan which was completed in 2014. Re-establishing the English Landscape parkland layout is the main focus of the renovation works. This will involve the clearing of large swathes of inappropriate and overplanted areas as well as the removal, and in some cases, the replacement of some of the park’s elements.
Georges Street
Georges Street, Newbridge is at the heart of the busy country town and is located midway along the Main Street running North West between it and Eyre Street. A number of years ago well know artist, Ann Meldon Hugh was commissioned to create a number of sculptures depicting the tradition of trade in the town.
The original plan was to mount this pieces on the building facades but it was later decided that they would gain more prominence if they were displayed in cases along the street. Omos liaised with the council and the artist to arrive at a solution which was both sympathetic to the works of art while meeting the practical needs of the council.

Dublin Docklands
The Docklands is recognised as being the corporate business centre of Dublin city. Located on both sides of the River Liffey, roughly from the Talbot Memorial Bridge eastwards to the 3Arena, the area is home to the Daniel Libeskind designed Bord Gais Energy Theatre and the Kevin Roche designed Convention Centre. North and South quays are connected at the heart of the Docklands by the Samuel Beckett Bridge designed by Santiago Calatrava.
In 2015 Dublin Docklands Development Authority sent out to tender a call for new street litter bins which would befit this area. Omos s16.2ss litter bin was the product of choice.

Keel Square, Sunderland
Officially opened on the 31st of August 2015, Keel Square is a celebration of Sunderland’s rich shipbuilding heritage. The Square was designed by Sunderland City Council in-house multidisciplinary design team, their aim being to create a new central business district within the city.
Omos was invited by the design team to propose seating solutions based on their maritime themed concepts. The result, a durable galvanized steel construction, naturally finished Jatoba hardwood with etched bronze detailing.
People’s Park, Dún Laoghaire
The People’s Park is a beautifully landscaped, historic park that opened in Dún Laoghaire in 1890. The park was developed near the end of the 19th century by the town commissioners in the formal Victorian style.
In 2014, Dún Laoghaire – Rathdown County Council completed an extensive refurbishment of the park to restore its original Victorian layout as well as introduce contemporary interventions to upgrade the park for the 21st century.
Omos was chosen to provide some ‘catalogue products’ for the extensive restoration as well as adapting some standard products to fit the Park’s specific needs.
Omos Select
At all times we at Omos direct our efforts at delivering products which enhance our reputation for quality, innovation and competitiveness.
But we are always looking for other opportunities to collaborate with like-minded manufacturing companies. We are continually on the lookout for products which could possibly complement our range and in doing so offer our clients a greater choice for their landscaping needs.
Such an opportunity recently presented itself in linking up with a very reputable French manufacturer Pro Urba who are manufacturers of a very impressive range of resin concrete planters - a material which is 5 times lighter than concrete, 5 times as resistant as concrete and is frost resistant.
To 'cement' this possible relationship, we recently we took an inspection trip to their factory in France and following this visit we are pleased to announce that we have now agreed an exclusive distribution agreement with Pro Urba for their full range of planters for Ireland and the UK.
