Kilcullen Road Active Travel Scheme

In April 2024, Kildare County Council opened the Kilcullen Road Active Travel Scheme; a significant overhaul of the cycling infrastructure for the county town. In partnership with the National Transport Authority, their goal was to improve the accessibility and safety of cycling in Naas. Omos furniture was selected to elevate both the aesthetic appeal and functionality of the project.

“Improving facilities along cycling and walking routes is a real demonstration of our commitment to sustainably developing our communities here in County Kildare.  By improving this infrastructure in the heart of communities, we’re helping to create a sense of place, protecting vulnerable road users as well as promoting sustainable transportation.” – Cathaoirleach of the County of Kildare, Councillor Daragh Fitzpatrick

Omos collaborated with the designers to enhance the overall experience of the scheme. A wide range of products was supplied to fill unused spaces along the route, encouraging users to stop and enjoy the amenities the area has to offer. Click here to see how the space looked before.
